France meet Ireland in play off

1998 world champion, France, Ireland will be challenged in the play-off 2010 World Cup qualifying which will take place on 14 and 18 November with the format of the game, home and away.

Play-off game brought together the best teams from the round of European Zone qualifying group. A total of eight teams best runner-up, namely Ireland, Greece, Ukraine, Bosnia-Herzegovina, France, Portugal, Russia and Slovenia, will compete in play-off to fight the four rations left for Europe to perform at the World Cup.

Portugal will meet Bosnia-Herzegovina, while 2004 European champions Greece will be challenged Ukraine. Next Russia will face Slovenia. Thus the draw made the South African national team players Steven Piennaar and FIFA Secretary General Jerome Valcke at the headquarters of FIFA, Zurich, Switzerland, Monday (19/10).
